What is a Vision Statement?
This is a brief statement about your hope for the future. What do you want for the families and community that you serve? A vision statement does not necessarily need to be measurable. Your program is not necessarily responsible for single-handedly achieving it. Rather, your program should contribute to its achievement.

What are some examples of a Vision Statements?
Vision statements can be very diverse. Some examples are:

• Strong, Safe and Healthy Families
• All Children Ready for School by 6
• Families Free From Violence

The vision statements in the above example are extremely ambitious. 12 week parent-education program cannot expect to have “all children ready for school by 6”, but, if the program is successful, it should contribute to the long-term vision of having all children ready for school by 6.
