What areas of prevention does FRIENDS focus services on?
FRIENDS focuses on Primary and Secondary Prevention efforts and the services associated there. This includes a focus on assisting state Lead Agencies to measure and report on their outcomes in their various programming efforts. In addition to outcome accountability, FRIENDS offers T/TA in areas such as:
- Best Practices in child abuse and neglect prevention programs
- Program planning and design
- Marketing programs and initiatives
- Community coordination, collaboration and networking
- Parent involvement and shared leadership
- Peer Review
- Program self assessment
- Understanding the role of prevention in the Child and Family Services Reviews
- Respite services
- Diverse populations
- Leveraging funding
- Federal initiatives such as healthy marriage, fatherhood, positive youth development, faith-based services, and services to rural communities

In addition to on-site T/TA, FRIENDS offers a targeted list serve to share information effectively with states and other interested parties, a detailed web site with a variety of information relevant to the prevention community, participation in focused national, state, and regional training to help share information effectively, and the dissemination of the annual Child Abuse Prevention Month Packet. |
