Julie Collins joins the FRIENDS team as the Program Manager on behalf of the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA). She has 24years of direct service, managerial and training experience in the human services, mental health and managed care field. She is currently the Director of Practice Excellence at CWLA where she provides consultation and technical assistance in the area of mental health and best practice approaches; designs and conducts conferences/workshops related to mental health issues of children, adults and their families; develops, tests and delivers cross systems curriculum and resource materials; develops and implements special projects to address specific mental health issues, practices, program needs; and, identifies and disseminates effective program models. Julie has a Masters in Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Cynthia Savage is the CEO of Circle of Parents, a national network of parent leaders and statewide organizations dedicated to self-help parent support programs as a means for strengthening families and preventing child abuse and neglect. For over 30 years, Cynthia has acquired expertise in administrative management, program development and quality assurance through her work with children and families receiving behavioral health, child welfare, child abuse prevention and family support services. She is active in community-based collaborations, serves as a member of several national and statewide committees and has written and managed private and publicly funded grants. She is a founding board member and president of Healthy Families Chicago. Cynthia also provides consultation and conducts surveys for behavioral health and child and youth services organizations seeking international accreditation. She earned a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois – Chicago / Jane Addams College of Social Work, a Bachelors’ degree in sociology from the University of Illinois in Champaign and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Glenda Eoyang is the executive director of Human Systems Dynamics Institute. As a pioneer in the field of human systems dynamics, she applies principles of self-organizing systems to help people thrive in unpredictable environments. Since 1988, she has provided training, consulting, coaching, research, evaluation, and facilitation support in the public and private sectors. Her approach to systems thinking focuses on a lively integration of theory and practice as she helps people see and influence patterns that emerge within and around individuals, teams, organizations and communities.
Her published works include numerous scholarly and practical books and articles including Coping with Chaos: Seven Simple Tools (Lagumo, 1996) and Facilitating Organization Change: Lessons from Complexity Science with Ed Olson (Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer, 2003). She is an associate of the Center for Evaluation, Planning, and Assessment at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada; Scientific Advisor to the Plexus Institute; member of the Circle of Scholars of The Union Institute and University; faculty member at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota; and founding Executive Director of the Human Systems Dynamics Institute.

Mallary Tytel is an associate of the Human Systems Dynamics Institute. She is the president and founder of Healthy Workplaces, a national consulting firm that focuses on human systems dynamics, leadership development, coaching and culture change. She is the former CEO of an international non-profit health and human service corporation; has served as a key advisor to senior-level civilian and military personnel within the U.S. Department of Defense; has provided oversight for three Congressionally-mandated pilot programs in 16 high-risk communities across the country; and created and delivered an innovative leadership training program for over 40 military communities worldwide. Mallary has a Ph.D. in Public Health Promotion and Organizational Systems from the Union Institute and University, an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut and is a certified executive coach and mediator. Her new book, Vision Driven: Lessons Learned from the Small Business C-Suite, is now available.

Dr. Raymond S. Kirk joins the FRIENDS teams as a Director of Research and Program Evaluation at Independent Living Resources, Inc, of Durham, NC. He has held teaching, professional and administrative positions in academe and in government, prior to joining the ILR, Inc., in his present position. He has worked extensively with private sector organizations and foundations on program design, program evaluation and policy analysis. His writing and research activities have focused on both qualitative and quantitative program evaluation and client-centered outcome evaluation, primarily in the areas of child welfare, child protection services, and other youth and family programs. He served as Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services during the administrations of 2 Vermont Governors. Ray is also is the developer of the North Carolina Family Assessment Scale and the North Carolina Family Assessment Scale for Reunification, family functioning scales for use in placement prevention and reunification cases where family preservation service methods are employed. He has also worked with CHTOP as a methodologist and analyst on federally research grants, and on the development of outcome evaluation manuals and guidebooks.

Melissa Van Dyke, LCSW, is the Director of Technical Assistance Services at the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) located at UNC's FPG Child Development Institute. Melissa obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Oregon and a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, with a focus on Interpersonal Practice and Policy. Before joining the NIRN team, Melissa worked in state government in New Mexico with families and youth in both the child welfare and the juvenile justice systems. Along with her years in direct service, Melissa worked in the areas of staff development (training) and administration (as Deputy Superintendent of a large juvenile correctional facility). Her recent efforts include working with state and federal initiatives related to scaling up evidence-based practices in K-12 education (www.scalingup.org), evidence-based child abuse prevention programs, and leadership development in Child Welfare. She has also worked with community and state initiatives to transform mental health service systems. Melissa's current research interests include organizational change and system transformation, systems coaching, and complexity sciences.

Sandra F. Naoom, M.S.P.H, is Associate Director of the National Implementation Research Network (NIRN) and an investigator at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For over ten years Sandra has acquired expertise in research and program evaluation; over the last six years Sandra has acquired expertise in the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based programs and practices, the development of fidelity instruments, and the developments of instruments to assess implementation models, as well as understanding the supply and demand of implementing innovations. Sandra also provides consultation, evaluation and technical assistance around implementation of innovations with fidelity. She is a doctoral candidate at the University of South Florida- Tampa, where she also earned her Master of Science in Public Health degree.
